What is BMR?
Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) is the number of calories your body
needs to perform basic life-sustaining functions at rest, such
as breathing, circulation, and cell production.
What is TDEE?
Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE) is the total number of
calories you burn each day, including your BMR plus calories
burned through physical activity and exercise.
How to Use These Numbers
To lose weight, eat below your TDEE (calorie deficit). To gain
weight, eat above your TDEE (calorie surplus). To maintain
weight, eat at your TDEE. Aim for gradual changes for
sustainable results.
Important Note
These calculations are estimates based on population averages.
Individual metabolic rates vary. Consult a healthcare
professional or registered dietitian for personalized advice.
